Katerina Psaltos is a womenswear designer with an affinity for romanticism, illusion, chaos, and imperfection. She often finds herself drawn to unexpected, awkward sources of beauty, organic shapes, and gothic elements. As a distinctly feminine designer, Katerina tends to use drapery, print, and textile manipulation to accentuate the assets of the women she adorns. Though time-consuming, the love she puts into her hand-made textiles demonstrates her attention to detail and her genuine passion for craft.
She is a BFA Fashion Design graduate of Parsons School of Design with a minor in Creative Entrepreneurship. She is also a Fashion Scholarship Fund alumnus in recognition of her case study which explored a conceptual fashion brand of cognitive behavioral therapy clothing.
Since graduating, Katerina has worked at AREA (Patternmaking); Veronica Beard (Technical Design); Ralph Lauren Purple Label (Fabric Design Assistant); Oscar de la Renta (RTW Design Assistant); Michael Kors Collection (Womens Runway Wovens & Knits Design Assistant/VIP Illustrator).
Katerina is currently working as a women’s evening & daywear designer at Badgley Mischka.
She is well-acquainted with couture cutting, draping, patterning, and sewing, as well as textile, print, and embroidery design, with familiarity in machine knitting, weaving, laser cutting, and 3D printing. She is also highly proficient in Adobe, Microsoft, and Google Suites; as well as CLO 3D, Gerber Accumark, and Centric PLM.
